Besties for the Resties

November 17, 2014

Howdy fambam! Hahaha so jokes on me. Remember last week when I said...okay...it can get cold. HA PSYCH. I'm in the negatives and laughing my head off it's so cold. How all the other missionaries around the world are surviving I shall never know. It's snowed a few times and since this is Sister Lelle's last transfer I'm the DD. And this 1st timer driving in the snow is going pretty good. Pretty sure Jesus is literally taking the wheel b/c I've never done this before--but we have not died and I'm alive to tell the tale....for the time being....in the mean time I'll keep striving to use the enabling power of the Atonement to help me through this.

The Trail Center literally looks like Christmas. We got to help decorate it and it's oh so lovely. I'll snag some pictures this week to show you! I loveee it.

We had a mission tour this weekend and I now have a best friend--Elder Brent H. Nielson of the 1st Quorum of the 70.
Literally spent 4 days straight with him. yayyyy for leadership meetings! AND SISTER LELLE AND I GOT TO GIVE THEM A TOUR AT THE TRAIL CENTER. (oh I forgot to tell you! Another general authority came in September. Elder Gidoy...totally not spelling that right. He spoke in Portuguese at General Conference. He talked to me for like 2 minutes and shook my hand. aka swoon.) I GAVE A GENERAL AUTHORITY A TOUR. Can you say nervous? Like what do you commit a general authority to do? But it was oh so wonderful and we sang for them and good golly I just loved it. Probably one of the best tours of my life! So spiritual. And his wife and I are related! We both go back to the Sessions line and from Sarah--Perrigrine's wife. So now I'm in her ipad notes as case face and all. Maybe she'll show President Monson?
ehh I'll keep dreaming that one haha. But they are incredible! and I learned so much from them. Eye contact is for sure one. Just that we can truly discern the needs of others as we look into their eyes. That is so hard for me! But it's something I'm really going to start working on. And so much on the atonement. Oh and priesthood.

We had stake conference this weekend and we now have a new Stake Presidency and it was so tender. My testimony in the priesthood grew SO much. In preach my gospel  it says, "The attitude you have towards your mission experience is a reflection of your love toward your Heavenly Father and His son and your respect for the priesthood." This weekend from all the testimonies given and the talks, I realized how much I love and care about the priesthood and need to work hard to find an ACTIVE and worthy priesthood holder in my life. And with this leadership calling it's really opened my eyes to so many ways to serve everyone around me and how to help my fellow missionaries. As sisters, we need to support the Elders in the commitments they leave b/c it helps them see that as we obey the commitments and share about the blessings that follow--then they can truly see that they are worthy priesthood leaders that are in tune with the spirit and following the Lord's will. These gem of Elders don't like to show it haha but they have feelings too and being supportive is so crucial in any women's life for her leaders and her husband to help these incredible men of the church lead and guide and turn to the Lord for answers and to serve. I wish I could explain better the testimony I gained.  I learned so much this week! I love being a missionary!

This video was shown at zone conference too and it really hit home with me! We all need to be stepping up our A+ game so we can be ready for our call to serve at any given moment! I love the stripling warriors and I've been studying  them lately. "...they are young, and their minds are firm, and they do put their trust in God continually." They are so strong and steadfast and are an example at all times and in all things and in all places. We all should be putting our trust in the Lord continually. I love this gospel! And I know that sacrifices are not really sacrifices when the blessings are so wonderful. It's just giving up something good for something better.

EVERYONE EAT A CUPCAKE FOR ME for the big 21. I'm so happy to be serving a mission and shouting to all these corn huskers of the good news we have to share! Keep being an example and serve with all your heart, might, mind, and strength to all you come in contact with. God loves each of us so much and I'm so grateful for that knowledge--and there are many that are seeking for it as well.

I love y'all!
